Two people killed in accidents

Nagpur: Separate road accidents claimed the lives of a teenager and an unidentified man in the last 24 hours. The first incident took place at Civil Lines near Metro Rail office on Sunday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Shubham Gedam, 18, a resident of New Vasti, Futala Lake.
Police said that Gedam with his two friends, Jitu Yadav and Sunny Raut, were riding on a bike to fill petrol from a nearby petrol pump.On the way, Gedam, who was driving the bike, lost control and rammed into the road divider. Gedam, who was without a helmet, fell on the divider causing head injuries. Raut and Yadav fell on the road and suffered minor injuries.
Sadar police rushed the trio to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared Gedam brought dead. The other two injured are undergoing treatment at Mayo Hospital. Sadar police have registered a case against Gedam for rash driving.
In the other incident, a speeding unidentified vehicle knocked dead an unidentified man at Sitabuldi Main Road on Sunday midnight. Sitabuldi police have registered a case and are trying to trace the vehicle involved.
